Brain abscess formation within an endodermal cyst of the frontal lobe: case report.

A 38-year-old man with a right frontal lobe cyst was treated by endoscopic cystoventriculostomy in 1998. Cyst capsule histology revealed surprisingly an endodermal cyst. The patient was reoperated for cyst expansion by endoscopic re-cystoventriculostomy in 2005. In 2007, the patient suffered from brain abscess formation within the cyst which was punctured. The history was positive for a dental infection. In 2008, a recurrent brain abscess in the cyst occurred. The cyst was completely resected. There was no history of trauma or sinusitis. Objective: The aim of the study is to review the management of petrous apex cholesterol granuloma. The surgical approaches for drainage or total removal and the wait and see policy were analyzed, and outcomes were evaluated. Methods: Retrospective charts of 27 patients managed for petrous apex cholesterol granuloma with a minimum follow-up of 12 months were analyzed in a quartenary skull base center. Presenting symptoms and signs were recorded, and radiologic imaging was evaluated. Management options included wait and see policy and surgery by several approaches. Vulvar Epidermal Inclusion Cyst as a Long-term Complication of Female Genital Mutilation

We present a case report of a patient with epidermal inclusion cyst as a late complication of female genital mutilation (FGM). We describe the management of the patient, and a review of the literature. We report the clinical and pathological findings in a 37-year-old female patient from Nigeria, with a clitoral mass of 1 year duration. She declared to have an FGM since she was 5 years. The lesion was excised successfully with good cosmetic results. Histological examination revealed epidermal cyst with the presence of granular layer. An epidermal inclusion cyst can develop as a long-term consequence of FGM.
Epidermal inclusion cyst of the penis after urethroplasty causing an urethro-cutaneous fistula: a first case report

Penile epidermal cysts are uncommon. We report a pediatric case of epidermal inclusion cyst of the penis after urethroplasty, responsible of the appearance of an urethro-cutaneous fistula. In our opinion, surgical excision of epidermal inclusion cyst after urethroplasty must be performed as quickly as possible to avoid occurrence of postoperative complications.
